
Vacancy - Orchestral String Tutor



The CYO is seeking to employ a string tutor to join our friendly and committed team. The post holder will be responsible for coaching the string section of our Senior and Intermediate Orchestras as well as providing small group/ individual lessons for our new trainees. The successful applicant would join a team of orchestral tutors who are all active musicians. Responsibilities:

To attend rehearsals and concerts, assisting CYO members, Tutors and the Music Director

To teach string lessons, ideally violin/viola/cello, with some knowledge of other string instruments

To support the members and other orchestral tutors, promoting CYO and a passion for music

To liaise with other orchestral tutors in order to share information as required

To promote and support recruitment of CYO members in the local area
The successful candidate will be required for rehearsals every Saturday during term time, between the hours of 8:30 – 12:15pm. The postholder will need to make a regular commitment to CYO Saturday mornings during term-time. This position is subject to a satisfactory references and DBS check prior to appointment.
